تشكلت مولوكيني أتول منذ حوالي 15،000 سنة، خرجت من الحفرة مع الحمم البركانية,وشكل هذا الهلال الصخرى من الطبيعية تم العثور في هذه الجزيرة على أكثر من 250 نوعا من الأسماك و 38 نوعا من المرجان، التي لم تعد موجودة في جميع أنحاء المحيط الهادي.
